Project Overview Outsource BIM Services India
Sherwood Country Club has been one of the most famous golf resorts since its inception. It was built in 1904 on 165 acres of land. The golf course started functioning in full swing in 1989. And since then many tournaments have taken place at the site. It is an old structure with designs pertaining to the 1900s. Many areas of the club were indeed in need of renovation.
Will Shepherd, the architect who was given the responsibility of the renovation and remodelling of the entire area of the country club approached CAD Drafting for the modeling. A well-built 3D model is necessary for the life cycle management of the country club.

Role of BIM modelling in the project
The Sherwood building is quite old and has a rustic vibe to it. To renovate that structure it was necessary to get the details right and accurate. With turning the drawings into BIM models, it provided the requisite information to the architect and his team to work efficiently on the actual process of renovation.
Role of CAD Drafting in the project
CAD Drafting, a growing outsourcing provider excelling in architectural modelling and delivering them to clients all over the world and especially USA and UK.
As stated earlier, CAD Drafting is the chosen outsourcing firm that the architect relied on. CAD Drafting was given the responsibility of coming up with a detailed Revit model out of whatever details were provided to them. The CAD Drafting team has worked effortlessly in making the arrangements proper. The level of coordination between CAD Drafting and Sherwood made it possible to carry out the works of BIM in its most effective form.
Process of work between CAD Drafting and Sherwood
The architect working with Sherwood has shared the 2D drawing set of the site and few internal photographs. The engineers of CAD Drafting used the drawings to produce BIM models in the vector form. The Revit model was designed to further ease out the process

Challenges in the project
The project size is quite great. And it being an old structure, made the whole design a bit complicated and tough to understand. Creating the model for such a big project in the designated time was quite a task
The PDF was old and contained very less information. The measurements were also not very clear. There were no elevations given. The internal drawings were used to estimate the details which were incorporated in the model.
What did CAD Drafting members take away from the project?
Undoubtedly this was a huge project to work on. And the complex challenges it brought were not that easy to deal with. But BIM made the process simpler and less complicated. With BIM coordination all the team members were able to coordinate well throughout the modelling.
This project gave an in-depth insight on the peculiarities attached to the old buildings. And also, the opportunity to work on such a great and famous project was unmatchable.
